Holland in Ural

Hey, do you think you see some middle ages architecture from Holland or other places in Europe on this pic? No, its not. It is city in Ural part of Russia called Yoshkar-Ola (name is pretty not common even for a Russian ear). And this city mayor as per the story order his city downtown to be converted in old Brugge like town. Those are not just fake sets like they use in movies – those are real buildings where the administrative offices and some other organizations are located. At night they turn the lights and all this fake European town reflects in the water. Want to see more? Nefer has travelled there and made those photos we have inside:

And this place is copied from the Moscow’s Kremlin. And its also over there

However from a distance this can fool people into believing this city has something old-European in it and probably attracting tourists as this might look terrific on the postcards.

Town residents seem to enjoy visiting this place.

I doubt you can see a jet-ski inside a Holland city.

Also new technologies.

And if you don’t believe me its for real just google “Yoshkar Ola” and see more pictures. They really built this inside their city. Its not a big deal compared they have fake Eiffel tower and stuff in China though.

Also thanks to Nefer for her photos!
